The agreement also includes an option for an additional year, giving Chhetri the choice to prolong his association with the club.
Recognized as the third highest goal-scorer among active players globally, Chhetri proudly displayed a banner at the Kanteerava Stadium after India’s victory over Lebanon in the SAFF Championship semifinal on Saturday. The banner clearly stated his commitment to continuing his journey with Bengaluru FC, with whom he has won an impressive total of seven trophies.
“I have signed contracts with Bengaluru FC several times, and each time it feels special, even though it’s just a formality. I am delighted to spend two more years here,” Chhetri expressed after signing the contract.
“The fans played a crucial role in this decision. Despite receiving tempting offers from top clubs over the years, the unwavering support of our fans made it impossible for me to consider leaving.”
Having served as club captain since its inception in 2013, Chhetri holds the record for being the longest-serving player at Bengaluru FC. Over his tenure of 10 seasons, he has been a key contributor to the team’s success.

“We are thrilled that Sunil has signed a new deal with the club. He sets a remarkable standard on and off the field, inspiring players nationwide, both professionally and within grassroots football,” remarked Bengaluru FC coach Simon Grayson.
